RCIA Course - Has begun! Not too late to join!

Interested in becoming Catholic or want to know more about the Catholic faith? St Benedict’s is running an RCIA Program (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) in 2025. RCIA is an opportunity to come together to learn more about the Catholic faith. Sessions focus on the teachings and experience of the Church and prepare individuals to celebrate the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist during the Easter season. This will be a weekly commitment from August 2025 through to Easter 2026, Thursdays 6:30pm-8pm in the Parish Centre run by Fr Samson and his team.  To register, follow the link: https://forms.gle/xRh1KPY8kkhibuVe8 

5th of Sept: Friday 5:30pm Healing Mass and Reconciliation Cancelled

On the 5th of September the Friday 5:30pm Healing Mass and Reconciliation is cancelled due to the Ordination happening at 6pm. More than welcome to come and join us at the Ordination!

Ordination to the Priesthood for Deacon Joseph and Deacon Michael

The Missionaries of God’s Love invite you to the ordination of Deacon Joseph Nivaskaran MGL and Deacon Michael Last MGL to the priesthood, celebrated by Most Reverend Christopher Prowse. The ordination will take place on Friday, 5th September 2025 at 6:00 PM at St Christopher’s Cathedral, Canberra, followed by dinner at St Benedict’s Parish, Narrabundah. Masses of Thanksgiving will be celebrated by Fr Joseph on Saturday, 6th September at 11:00 AM at St Benedict’s, Narrabundah, and by Fr Michael on Sunday, 7th September at 9:00 AM at St Benedict’s, Narrabundah, and on Monday, 8th September at 6:30 PM at St Patrick’s, Sutherland. All are warmly welcome to attend.

Fr Joseph’s First Mass: 11am @ St Benedict’s

Deacon Joseph has been faithfully serving our parish this year and he will be a newly ordained priest on the 5th of September. His First Thanksgiving Mass will be held on the Saturday 6th of September at 11am at St Benedict’s. This will be a charismatic mass. All are welcome. There will be a lunch afterwards. Please come and support Fr Joseph at this special time!

9am Sunday Mass-Goers Notice: Fr Michael’s First Mass

On Sunday 7th September at the 9am Mass, newly ordained Fr Michael Last MGL will celebrate his Mass of Thanksgiving. As such, the Mass will be a charismatic Mass. It may go for slightly longer than usual and many people are expected to attend. All parishioners are very welcome, but please be mindful of this when deciding which Mass to go to. The Mass will be followed by a Father's Day Brunch.

Seeking New Weekend Rosters Volunteers!

We’re reaching out to invite you to be a part of the beautiful work happening in our parish. We are eager to put some new names and faces on our ministry rosters—and there are plenty of ways you can get involved: Readers (for all masses), Welcomers, Eucharistic Ministers, Offertory Procession, Church Cleaning, Music Ministry, Mass Setup, Flowers and Altar Cleaning. If you feel called to contribute in any of these areas, we’d love to hear from you. Whether you're a familiar face or new to volunteering, your time and talents will be a blessing to our community.
