Parish Vision

Inspired by our faith in Jesus, we pray, listen, and welcome all as we reach out in service to transform the world.

Parish Pastoral Committee

The Parish pastoral Committee met on 3rd July and covered several matters including:

  1. The response to the call for new PPC members. The outcomes of the nomination process will be announced shortly. Retiring member Brendan Gibson was thanked for his extensive contribution as co-chair.
  2. The benefit of having additional sources of live music for some occasions like multicultural Masses or youth-focused celebrations.
  3. The positive engagement between parish and the schools was acknowledged, in particular the beautiful Confirmation on 2 July.
  4. Given limited response from parishioners, planning for a Parish Lament and Healing ceremony in the Safeguarding Sunday week will be progressed with the Liturgy Committee and the one volunteer.
  5. Sarah Lowe will convene the Parish Website Development Group to finalise requirements.
  6. The design for a new Parish Sign at each site was approved. Each sign will match the colour of the existing school sign at each site (as the Parish does not have a specific colour design). To avoid clutter and the need to update regularly, the wording will be minimal: the name of the church and Parish, a welcome, office phone number and website name.

The Season of Creation

The Season of Creation is the annual ecumenical celebration of prayer and action for our common home. It is a time to renew our relationship with our Creator and all creation through celebration, conversion, and commitment together.

The Season of Creation begins on September 1, World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, and ends on October 4, the feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of ecology.

The theme for Season of Creation this year is “To hope and act with Creation”, and the symbol is “The firstfruits of hope”, inspired by Romans 8:19-25.

Amid the triple planetary crisis of climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution, many are beginning to despair and suffer from eco-anxiety. As people of faith we are called to lift the hope inspired by our faith, the hope of the resurrection. This is a hope embodied in concrete actions of prayer and preaching, service and solidarity.
